Description

First of all - the specimen shows a very tri-dimensional assemble, I tried to do my best with the camera, but it is really better in person and so I will try to explain the assemble. There are 2 free-standing Hematite roses - one in front of the other. They are both razor sharp terminated and highly lustrous - many specimen show an early state of alteration or etching - this specimen represents the really best quality. Both Hematite roses are rich of inter grown lustrous, dark red Rutile (I always photograph under daylight - with some lamps the Rutile shows much more color). The roses are exposed on a sharp terminated, glossy Quartz crystal, which shows only a touch of light smoky color. Inter grown to the Quartz crystal you can see some snowy white Adularia. It is really a wonderful combination, very aesthetic and without damages. The quality of all minerals is as good as it could be. The main crystal of Hematite is 23mm across, so also the crystal size is pretty good and well balanced to overall-dimension. It is really hard to get a specimen like this - I have several Strahler-friends in Switzerland and it is quite difficult to buy a specimen in this quality and such aesthetic like the particular one, even when you can ask directly at the sources. And even if you have the chance to get one - when you go to Switzerland in our days you would have to pay a lot of money for stuff on this level.
