Description

This is a specimen from the famous discovery of a water-tunnel construction between the villages of Böckstein and Remsach in Gastein Valley. The tunnel was built during the construction of a Power station and finally flooded with water. The miners discovered this cleft on meter 3710 in the year of 1995. This discovery is among the most important alpine Fluorite discoveries ever done in Austria, it is one of our most famous classics! The numebr of specimen was very low - again only one cleft produced this material! This specimen shows a typical pale green sharp, glossy octahedron up to 15mm on edges and a second smaller crystal at the top of the piece in the typical combination with tiny milky quartz crystals. There is no matrix backside, it is a thin vein of quartz - developed as floater. No significant damages to report.
