Quartz & Rutile

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Hardangervidda, Vestland, Norway
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4.3 × 2 × 1.9 cm
Description

Very rare and uncommon material from this prominent locality, which is usually well known for anatase. The crystal is water-clear, sharp terminated and lustrous - it shows rich inclusions of thin needles of dark rutile. This material is really hard to obtain and represents a great rarity! I got only 2 specimen from a collector who worked at the locality.
