Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Oberlaussa, Sankt Gallen, Liezen District, Styria, Austria
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.7 × 2.4 × 1.4 cm
Description

This material is decades old (discovery was in the early 70ties), there is very low quantity - the locality is relatively small and field collecting is prohibited since many years. So this specimen represents a great rarity. This specimen shows a very large (for the locality-14mm) crystal with light, colorless zoning along the edges and a dark purple center (first photo was done with backlight). Should be high valued for the very uncommon zoning and the rare, classic locality.
