Baryte & Quartz

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Panj Kuh Mine, Damghan County, Semman Province, Iran
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
9.6 × 7.4 × 6.1 cm
Description

This is new material - a German field collector, who visited the area last spring brought the material to Europe. He had about 10 specimen; I selected the 2 best ones (regarding aesthetics and undamaged condition). This one shows a dark matrix, which is completely covered with small Quartz crystals, they show a dark (iron-oxide) layer. On it you can see several snowy white Baryte roses, they are exposed and the whole assemble looks very tricky-dimensional and aesthetic. The Baryte reminds to material from Les Cedres, France. The roses are not dull, they are still glossy - very similar to this French stuff, but the difference is matrix. The specimen looks really fine in various positions, no significant damages to report.
