Description

Gastein Valley is famous for alpine green fluorite octahedrons. There are several discoveries, where fluorites in different colors (mainly different shades of green), sizes and quantities have been found. This specimen comes from the new find which has just been published in the Lapis issue Jg. 42 Nr.10 Okt. 2017. The particular specimen shows several well shaped crystals on a nearly spherical assemble. The fluorite crystals cover the matrix on all sides, only a small area at the bottom shows the mother rock.
