Rock Crystal

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Vorsterbach Valley, Wörth, Zell am See District, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.3 × 2.7 × 1.7 cm
Description

This material is very rare and hard to obtain. The locality is located in the National Park "Hohe Tauern". Field collecting is generally prohibited and only a few local collectors have a permit to dig there. This specific locality is well known for large, well shaped and highly lustrous crystals and zepters. But the conditions there - as well the low quantity of clefts - made it very difficult just to find a tiny sample. This one is relatively large for the locality, it shows a significant zepter-habit and also fine luster. No significant damages to report.
