Description

Mellite is actually an organic compound, a bizarre species indeed. It is an Aluminium mellitate (benzene hexacarboxylate) hydrate, a rare secondary mineral in lignite deposits. This specimen is much above average concerning quality and size. Especially the crystals luster and termination is excellent and the main crystal with attractive texture is very exposed. No significant damages to report.
