Fluorite & Calcite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Weißeck Area, Murwinkel, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.8 × 5.2 × 4 cm
Description

Most material that we show from the locality is from the famous summit cleft. But this piece is from small discoveries in the east sloap of the mountain. The conditions in the east sloap are so dangerous that it ist nerly impossible to dig there. So material from the east sloa represents a great rarity. The exposed flourite crystals at the top are sharp-terminated and show an unusual good luster for Weisseck mountain. They show a very good translucency and it does not need backlight to show the attrctive blue colour. The specimen consists of intergrown flourite crystals which are partly covered by light grey cacite scalenohedrons.
