Berthierite & Stibnite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Baia Sprie Mine, Baia Sprie, Maramureș County, Romania
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10.8 × 9.5 × 7.4 cm
Description

One of the finest examples of this uncommon Fe-Sb sulfosalt, that I ever had. Several sprays on matrix with one exposed group in the center. The Berthierite is responsible for the iridescent, colorful layer and it really looks gorgeous. The discovery is most likely from around 1995, so far I had only single groups – never in such a nice combination and never on matrix. Better in person, fine assemble and good aesthetic in various positions, no significant damages to report.
