Description

Gastein Valley is famous for alpine green fluorite octahedrons. There are several discoveries, where fluorites in different colors (mainly different shades of green), sizes and quantities have been found. This specimen comes from the new find which has just been published in the Lapis issue Jg. 42 Nr.10 Okt. 2017. Most of the material were clusters; only intergrown crystals and no contrast with matrix neither isolated crystals or groups. So this specimen is really an exception, it shows an exposed group of isolated well-developed octahedrons up to 21 mm across. The faces are partely glossy, tho color is dark green. No significant demages to report.
