Description

Granite pegmatites in Hatě near Dolní Bory are situated in the Moldanubian complex of the Bohemian Massif, on the northern border of the Bory granulite massif. The Pegmatite veins are up to 1km long. But most are under woods and forests. So it is really difficult to dig there and no large quantity was found. The most prominent material is smoky Quartz, Apatite was always very rare. So this specimen is not very gemmy and not highly lustrous, Faces are glossy, the termination is very sharp, the crystal show a very attrective steel blue colour. The snowy white feldspat matrix is well crystalized and developed highly lustrous faces. On the right hand side to the apatite you can see a well developed site of muscovite. The apatite is complete, sharp and lustrous all around. The contrast and the assemble are very aesthetic. This is an outstanding specimen for the locality.
