Description

Granite pegmatites in Hatě near Dolní Bory are situated in the Moldanubian complex of the Bohemian Massif, on the northern border of the Bory granulite massif. The Pegmatite veins are up to 1km long. But most are under woods and forests. So it is really difficult to dig there and no large quantity was found. The most prominent material is smoky Quartz, Apatite was always very rare. So this specimen is not very gemmy and not highly lustrous, Faces are partly glossy, edges are not sharp (not damaged, what looks like broken on photos is a disturbance of growth) - but for this famous classic locality it is really good! The crystals are exposed on light beige and well developed Feldspat, their color is stell blue-grey, the assemble (and this is an exception for the locality) is aesthetic. It is a nice, rare and uncommon piece
