Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Chinkuashih Mine, Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan (Province Of China)
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
11.3 × 7.1 × 2.9 cm
Description

This is probably the most rare specimen I ever sold on e-rocks. Although the type locality is in argentinia, this material from Taiwan is even more rare. This exceptionally crystallized Famatinite specimen from this old gold-copper mine of northern Taiwan is from the collection of the famous Austrian collector Reinhard Dallinger, who acquired it from the German collector Wilke in 1985. Today this material is unfindable! Sawed at the base for better display, no significant damages to report.
