Serifos Island, Milos, South Aegean, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.7 × 3.8 × 3.1 cm
Description

From all different kinds of andradite from serifos this specimen represents the most rare variety. The crystals are more beige than the common red-brown but the indicator which really makes it unique is the sharp black zoning along all edges! The crystal size is also outstanding - the main crystal in the center is 27mm ! That is an exceptional size for the locality. Also the quality is superb - usually this material is only on satiny luster, but these crystals are really glossy and show amazing texture. No significant damages to report, except the edges of the specimen where is was extracted from the rock.
