Description

Very lustrous large gold leaf attractively set on quartz matrix from a well know old collection; the former owner was Dr. Univ.Prof. Siegmund from Vienna, who acquired the specimen in 1959. The locality is the most important historic gold locality of Europe. Even the K.u.K monrachy mined there. Emporer Maria Theresia raise their budget with gold from Rosia Montana (also known as "Rotbächlein" in German language or as "Verespatak" in Hungarian language. Time for a little side-note: the translation of the Romanian name means red mountain, while the translation of the German name means red creek). The contrast is already very nice. After a little cleaning the quartz matrix will become white, but I prefered to keep it in the origin state. Undamaged and even better in person.
