Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Frazers Hush Mine, Weardale, County Durham, United Kingdom
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.7 × 2.9 × 2.7 cm
Description

The crystals are up to 22mm on edges. Termination is very sharp, faces show mirror-luster. Photography was done under daylight, and it is still understatement! This material shows an incredible day-light fluorescence, like other fluorites show only under an UV-lamp. It is not just violet, it is purple and even more intense than you can imagine based on my photos.
