Conichalcite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Kamariza Mines, Lavrion, Attica, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.9 × 3.2 × 2.9 cm
Description

The photo includes two specimen, the dimensions of the larger one are 39x32x29mm, the second smaller one is 29x22x12mm. They belong together - it is a geode; not cut - carefully opened in the middle with an outer surface of the conichalcite displaying a well formed botryoidal habit. But the most impressive indicator is the habit and the dimension of conichalcite – I really never saw even one specimen that shows such well developed and large conichalcite crystals in such amazing color. Don´t think that it is oversaturated – the color is really neon and even significant better in person.
