Description

There are two remarkable things to report: First the crystal size – 4 cm on edges. The common dimension of these green crystals: 1 or 1,5 or – more rare – up to 2,5 cm. My specimen shows two large crystals – one 3,6 on edges, the second (right hand side on the photo with light background) is 4,0 cm on edges and this is really an exceptional crystal size for this green crystals.  The fluorite crystals show small modifications (to octahedron) at their corners. Their color is best for this discovery and one of the most amazing green fluorite I know. Unfortunately the color is very difficult to capture with the camera. But if you ever saw this material (and I guess you did) you know how good they look in person. The edges are sharp, there is some very interesting texture on glossy faces.

Second point: the Feldspat crystals make this specimen so eye-catching. They are both elongated, snowy white and the show micro crystals of inter grown Schorl. The specimen was in my personal collection since 2008, before it was in the personal collection of Hans Soltau sr. in Lüderitz, Namibia. Soltau is one of the most prominent collectors in Namibia, probably entire Africa.

The specimen was published in the first Namibia book of Ludi van Bezing (some kind of bible for collectors of Namibian minerals) on site 556, half side for this specimen and Soltau and as well the author ranked it very high. The specimen is undamaged.
