Quartz Sphalerite & Pyrite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Cavnic Mine, Maramureș County, Romania
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
12.1 × 10.1 × 8.4 cm
Description

The milky quartz crystals consist of tiny, but sharp and lustrous steps. Their upper side is covered with sparkling, jet-black sphalerite crystals. Some areas are also covered with tiny, golden pyrite crystals. The assemble is very fine – there are three freestanding crystals, look like a trident. Then a fourth crystal which grows to the front – please note, it is not lying – it grew rectangular to the three other crystals and also rectangular to matrix, also completely freestanding. Finally a few smaller crystals growing in all directions at the lower base. The tridimensional assemble is nearly impossible to capture with the camera - but I promise, you will not be disappointed, I think you will be surprised in a very positive way when you look at it in person. Lower back–side was on the rock, no significant damages to report
