Andradite & Hedenbergite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Avissalos, Serifos Island, Milos, South Aegean, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.6 × 2.5 × 1.9 cm
Description

The material is from old discoveries, today there is nothing on the market! Since some years it is absolutely impossible to dig on Serifos, some field collectors even became arrested and so no new material can be expected. Now more about the specimen: the color of crystals is not homogen, they show a darker zoning along their sharp terminated edges. The crystals are relatively large for the locality, they show a fine contrast to hedenbergite. Finally - as bonus - some white tiny quartz crystals are involved in this very aesthetic assemble.
