Description

This specimen is from samll recent discoveries at Zambezi Valley. The last saeson brought about 150 specimen of relevance. I looked through this material and it was amazing; very good color, sharp habits, excellent luster - but very disappointing in one indicator: nearly all crystals were damaged. I selected very carefully and get this undamaged crystal for the auction. It is sharp developed all around, no compromise on this piece. All faces show incredible high luster. The end points of the zepter show a very dark and very intense saturation, like very best materail from Namibia. The center is lighter and shows tones of smoky color. Finally theer are tiny inclusions of blood-red hematite. Hard to photograph - color and luster are much better in person. I rank this material very high - much less quantity as from Namibia - so much more rare. Color, termination and luster are compareable with best quality of amethyste world-wide. And again - this piece is undamaged, and this indicator is exceptional for this locality.
