Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Frohnau, Annaberg-Buchholz, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.8 × 4 × 3.3 cm
Description

This little find rekindles hopes of artisanal fluorite mining here, but I am told it was a long time in coming and not to hope for many more. So the quantity is limited and good specimen like the particular one are very hard to obtain. The crystal are lustrous, they show very good clarity and strong saturation. Also there are very interesting phantoms: sharp dark violet (looks more black on the photos) and additional blue zoning inside. The main crystal is 24mm on edges, all crystals are sharp terminated. Hard to photograph, much better in person! No significant damages to report (backside was generally on the rock).
