Innergschlöss, Tauern Valley, East Tyrol, Tyrol, Austria

Single Crystal

Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.9 × 2.9 × 2.5 cm
Description

This is an outstanding rarity! Alpine amethyste is generally rare, but from this locality it is even more rare. In Austrian Alps field-colelcting is nearly impossible, because most areas belong to the national park "Hohe Tauern", only a few local collectors have a permit from the goverment - but in the area of Innergschlöss field collecting is absolutely forbidden, so there are only a few old samples like the particular specimen. Please note - there will be only a fist full of amethyste crystals from this locality, probably the most rare material I can show from Alps. The crystal is developed as zepter, faces are lustrous, complete all around and the saturation is really fine, not only for Alps.
