Aragonite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Oberzeiring, Pölstal, Murtal District, Styria, Austria
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.7 × 5.6 × 0.8 cm
Description

This material is very hard to obtain and should be ranked high as a rarity. Oberzeiring is a historic mining area, but today field collecting is no more longer possible. So limited quantity only came out time by time from old collections. This cross section of a huge stalaktite shows a touch of blue color, which makes it even more rare. And the center with brownish matrix is one more special indicator. I show one photo without backlit, the first photo in the gallery shows the specimen with minor backlit. Well cut and polished, undamaged.
