Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Hocharn, Große Fleiß Valley, Spittal an der Drau District, Carinthia, Austria
Class:
Single Crystal
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
11.5 × 2.3 × 1.9 cm
Description

The area is a "national park" - field collecting is prohibited and only a fist full of local collectors have a permit from the goverment. So this material is much more rare and much more hard to obtain than crystals from Switzerland or France, also the quantity from Austria Alps is less than from localities in Swiss or France. The crystal is water-clear, it shows light brown color and faces show amazing texture and high luster. The top of the crystal is undamaged, but not completly sharp - minor iron layer is intergrown. The locality is uncommon and represents a rarity. Overall the crystal looks really beautiful and shows a very typical alpine character.
