Quartz & Microcline

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Papachacra Mountains, Papachacra, Belén Department, Catamarca Province, Argentina
Class:
Combination
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.4 × 4.8 × 2.8 cm
Description

Densely packed, well-formed, light rose crystals of microcline form the matrix for some sharp terminated, dark, neraly black brown-red quartz crystals. The edges of the sharp terminated microcline crystals are framed with a snowy white, translucent second generation. The quartz crystals show satiny luster, the main crystal is freestanding. The specimen is not only very aesthetic and eye-catching - the locality also represents a great rarity. The combination of microcline and dark quartz is very special for the locality and very uncommon in this great balance. Undamaged.
