Calcite & Pyrite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Hüttenberg, Sankt Veit an der Glan District, Carinthia, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
10.8 × 5 × 8.4 cm
Description

First of all - this specimen is much better in eprson. It consists of intergrown calcite crystals. All these crystals are highly lustrous, with stepped edges and faces. All these tiny steps are lustrous. Lot of contrast and amazing details with pyrite. pyrite is also glossy and golden, partly with colorful layers. Maybe a little bit too much matrix backside, but frontside is very pretty. Should be high ranked for the rare, historic locality.
