Ebensee, Gmunden District, Upper Austria, Austria
Size Range:
Museum (18cm plus)
Size:
18.1 × 12.9 × 4.7 cm
Description

This material was discovered in old sole-chambers inside the salt-mines in ebensee. These chambers might collaps, so the mine decided to blast them. Two local collectors were able to safe some specimen, before the chambers became destroyed. This was in 1988! Today it becomes really difficult to get this material and the particular sample is one really good: crystals are really large; up to 68mm across. Most were etched, but not so here. Many crystals are glossy! Also there are some sharp phantoms and finally there are 3 generations on this specimen. Surprisingly in very fine condition damage-wise!
