Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Landsverk Quarries, Evje og Hornnes, Agder, Norway
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.5 × 3.2 × 1.9 cm
Description

Fluorite from Norway are generally rare and although this is not a colorfull or lustrous specimen it should be high ranked for it´s rarity. And this is the probably most uncommon sample that I can offer from this locality, which usually produced cubic crystals. The crystals on this sample are developed as octahedrons! So this is not only rare because of the locality, it is even more special because of this unique habit. Crystals are dark, nearly black to dark violet and sharp terminated. Good contrast to matrix, nice assemble. Undamaged.
