The well known localities on Weisseck mountain are summit cleft and lake rieding. The particular specimen is a great rarity, not from one of these locality. It comes from a small discovery at the north face. It shows highest luster, not less than fine quality from China or UK and that is really very rare and special for Weisseck. Nearly all material which was found during centuries of mining history was etched by errosion. Very glossy specimen from Weisseck are rare as snow in the desert. All crystals show razor sharp termination, the centers show a very dark violet color, then you can see a sharp colorless zoning aloung the edges. The main group is complete all around, freestanding and exposed. It needs no backlit to have a very aesthetic, high-quality specimen from a small, rare discovery. But when backlit it is simply spectacular, as you can see on photography. No significant damages to report.
