Weiße Wand, Tauern Valley, Spittal an der Drau District, Carinthia, Austria
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.9 × 4.3 × 1.9 cm
Description

The Bockriegel discovery is the only important Fluorite discovery which was ever made in the entire region. The Fluorite crystals show a combination of octahedron, rhombs and cube. I show some close-ups to give you an idea of the habit. Very difficult to photograph and better in person. It look very attractive with this assemble including tiny sparkling quartz crytals. The largest fluorite crystals are set at the top as seen on my overall-photo and are about 11mm across. The discovery was published in Lapis-magazine 2 months ago and it should be ranked high as great rarity.
