Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Hirschau Quarry, Böckstein, St Johann im Pongau District, Salzburg, Austria
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
14 × 8 × 5.3 cm
Description

Well developed specimen featuring several intergrown octahedrons up to 16mm on edges. The colour is very good for the locality. Usually these material consists of intergrown crystals - in this case some faces are covered with stilbite (rare for the locality) which helps to give a great contrast. I mined this specimen in April 2010, will come with locality photo, which shows the cleft from inside where I mined it. One damage on a not so prominent crystal, overall in a very good condition.
