Flux Mine, Alum Gulch, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, United States of America

Crystals on Matrix

Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)

3.6 × 2.4 × 1.5 cm
Description

This is an outstanding specimen of the well-known jackstraw Cerussites from the Flux Mine in Arizona AND it's on matrix! The slender, bright white Cerussite crystals have an excellent, pearlescent luster, and some actually exceed 3 cm in length, which is exceptional for the locality. Cerussites from here are a highly desirable Arizona classic from the mid 1900s and dramatic specimens of this quality are rarely available. It shows wonderful contrast and great aesthetics!
