Description

Three intergrown crystals of galena (measuring 1.5 cm each) showing octahedral habit. For a large part these are covered by small quartz crystals that again are covered by another colourless mineral in some spots – cerussite? - (this is only visible under the microscope).

The specimen is out of the collection of F. J. Kessler (1806-1889). It is followed by 2 old labels, one of them in old-style German script.

An excellent specimen for Kongsberg!
