Description

A very good 0.35 cm gadolinite-(Y) crystal with nice faces from the Høydalen lithium pegmatite is embedded in albite and quartz. There is an extremely fine hairline crack through the crystal that is almost unvisible (possibly best to observe on pic no. 5). The crystal is absolutely stable. It is surrounded by a narrow, brown coloured rim probably consisting of bastnäsite. Collected in 1995.
