Description

A specimen made up of a cluster of scapolite crystals with numerous dark brown titanite crystals set in between. It is from of a skarn rock formation. The titanite crystals are leached and altered by hydrothermal fluids leaving interesting patterns and etch figures e.g. with many „micro holes“ at the surface of the crystal faces.

The specimen is from the collection of the famous Swedish mineralogist Harry von Eckermann († 1969, the mineral Eckermannite is named after him) and is followed by an original label bonded in a cardboard box.
