Description

A flattened almandine crystal with many faces and of very dark redbrown colour with some muscovite. According to Olav Revheim (2011): „The Steli Quarry, Iveland, Norway“ (article in mindat) the garnet crystals are wedged between mica sheets, so their growth was often restricted and they got flat. Specimen from this well-known pegmatite quarry in the Iveland area in Southern Norway. Collected in 1994.
