Description

Material from the earth's upper mantle: a pebble picked up from the river gravel of the Gusdalelva is consisting of intense green coloured chromian diopside, olive-green enstatite and subordinate purple coloured pyrope garnet, the crystals grown in interesting structures. Due to its composition the rock has to be categorized as a websterite and represents probably upper mantle material. Collected in 1990.
