Description

A 4 x 2.5 cm zone of pinkish, layered datolite with botryoidal structure covers a dark bedrock.

The location where the specimen was found is one of the old iron mines at Arendal. Another of these iron mines closeby (Nödebro) is type locality for Datolite.

The specimen is from the collection of the famous Swedish mineralogist Harry von Eckermann († 1969, the mineral Eckermannite is named after him) and is followed by an original label bonded in a cardboard box.
