The Göynük antimony deposit is located east of Göynük village on the south flank of Caluva Mountain at an elevation of approximately 1270 metres: Here is an old sample of Stibnites up to 3mm.

This deposit has been known for more than a hundred years and was sporadically exploited by small-scale underground operations.

Göynük is a low-temperature fault-controlled antimony deposit and stibnite mineralization is bound to the highly silicified rocks,
which are located on the contact of sedimentary limestone sequences and Murat Dagi volcanic (ophiolite) complex.
