Fluorite deposit, actively worked until 1990.
The veins (forming part of the so-called Flußschacht-Backofen vein system, 'Flußschächter-Backöfner Gangzug') were formed by hydrothermal intrusions in fault zones of the Harzgerode complex during the lower Tertiary age.

 A lovely old-time specimen of Fluorite up to 20mm
