Nenadkevichite is not uncommon in the Saint-Amable sill, but the crystals are generally very small and hard to spot – even with a scope. I was only able to spot one crystal of nenadkevichite on this specimen, but it is particularly nice (for the locality). In addition, there a numerous well-formed, thick-tabular, crystals of orange eudialyte ,and good sized (for the locality) patches of villiaumite.

Perhaps most interestingly, there is also an unidentified red “mineral’ (probably a PSM), that looks somewhat like MSH UK-86, which is supposedly altered erdite. In the present case, qualitative EDS ("Analysis" tab) shows only Fe with a bit of S. Any Na that might have been present is long gone. (Qualitative EDS for a sample of MSH UK-86 showed only Fe with very minor Si, Ca, and K. So the absence of Na and rather low level of S, doesn’t mean that this stuff can’t be similar to MSH UK-86. But it sheds no light on erdite as a possible precursor.)

The nenadkevichite crystal (0.45 mm) is shown along with some of the eudialyte(  0.75 mm) and a “puff ball” of green aegirine in the first pair photos  (FOV is 1.35 x 1.95 mm).

According to the Min Rec special issue on this quarry (March-April 1998), the most common habit for nenadkevichite in  the Saint-Amable sill is prismatic. Tabular crystals such as this one are supposedly much less common.

The second pair of photos (FOV 4.5 x 6.6 mm) shows some of the deep red villiaumite and the red Fe-S PSMs. The large “crystal” of  the red stuff is 1.25 mm long..
