Description

Strontianite is moderately uncommon at MSH. This is a pretty good example. Associated with dolomite from a hornfels seam (May 1994).

The first photo (FOV ca 15 x9 mm) is a macro view showing most (but not all) of the strontianite.

The next pair of photos (FOV 2.2 x 2.8 mm) is a close-up of some “robust” crystals from another part of the specimen. The largest crystal is about 1.4 mm long. You will need 30X to see it as in the photos.

The next pair of photos (FOV 4.0 x 6.0 mm) is a close-up of some of the strontianite groups shown in the first photo. Here the ndividual “spikes” reach 1.3 mm.

I have tdone the best I can with the photos. Nevertheless, if you are not happy with a specimen for any reason, I will refund the bid price – but not the shipping costs (unless the fault is clearly mine) – if the specimen is returned. This policy applies even if analysis of the specimen shows that my ID was incorrect. When in doubt, ask - or don’t bid. Note that most crystals at MSH and Varennes are micros - even if on large specimens. Please pay attention to the stated sizes. Any customs duties, fees etc. are the responsibility of the buyer.
