Description

This is a very large micro. There is a fair amount of friedelite, but the crystals are small. The first two photos (which “rotate” if you flip back and forth), show crystals to about 1.3 mm on edge. There is also a well terminated willemite prism - also about 1.3 mm. You will need 15-30 X to view these clearly. The third photo (FOV 7.0 x 4.1 mm) shows another vug with somewhat darker crystals. Some of the friedelite xls look mottled or “sugary”, but the “top” faces are as smooth as glass – as will be revealed by reflections. This is not really a willemite specimen, but the fourth photo shows another crystal a bit > 7 mm. This one is not well terminated – it runs into other stuff at both ends. It also has some chips. But these crystals fluoresce even under ordinary light! Weight 8.4 oz. Single item shipping weight 10.5 oz. Up to 12 oz, this can be combined with a small item or two for the same postage.

Seller's terms and conditions

In addition to the standard terms and conditions, please note the following. Almost all IDs are visual. While in most cases the ID is obvious, there may be cases where it is not. If you are doubtful about a particular ID, please ask for more information. Or do not bid! Similarly, if you are not sure that the specimen meets your criteria, do not bid. I have tdone the best I can with the photos. Nevertheless, if you are not happy with a specimen for any reason, I will refund the bid price – but not the shipping costs (unless the fault is clearly mine) – if the specimen is returned. This policy applies even if analysis of the specimen shows that my ID was incorrect. When in doubt, ask - or don’t bid. Note that most crystals at MSH and Varennes are micros - even if on large specimens. Please pay attention to the stated sizes. Any customs duties, fees etc. are the responsibility of the buyer.
