Description

This is a micro micro – a very small specimen. But it has some beautiful and interesting crystals. The first two photos (FOV 2.4 x 2.3 mm) show a glass clear willemite prism about 1 1/6 mm long and a franklinite cubo-octahedron about ? mm on edge. What is really interesting, however, is the apparent spinel law twin of franklinite in the middle. Most unusual! (The two photos form a stereo pair. If you flip back and forth, you will see the crystals rotate, thus giving a feeling of depth and making the structure clearer.) The third photo (FOV 2.3 x 2.7 mm) shows two larger willemite crystals. The well terminated crystal in the forground is 1.5 mm long and the one in the background is almost as wide as that. (It is also terminated, but the termination looks weird in the photo.) Weight 0.2 oz (including micro box). Single item (small box) shipping weight 2.2 oz. Outside the USA, this could be sent in a padded envelope for $7. Alternatively, it could be combined with other items up to a total weight < 4 oz for the same cost as this item alone.

Seller's terms and conditions

In addition to the standard terms and conditions, please note the following. Almost all IDs are visual. While in most cases the ID is obvious, there may be cases where it is not. If you are doubtful about a particular ID, please ask for more information. Or do not bid! Similarly, if you are not sure that the specimen meets your criteria, do not bid. I have tdone the best I can with the photos. Nevertheless, if you are not happy with a specimen for any reason, I will refund the bid price – but not the shipping costs (unless the fault is clearly mine) – if the specimen is returned. This policy applies even if analysis of the specimen shows that my ID was incorrect. When in doubt, ask - or don’t bid. Note that most crystals at MSH and Varennes are micros - even if on large specimens. Please pay attention to the stated sizes. Any customs duties, fees etc. are the responsibility of the buyer.
