Description

Rapid Creek in Canada's Yukon is known for providing many of the highest quality and rare phosphate minerals, and lazulite from the region is known to be the finest available.

This specimen features one face richly covered in dozens of sharp, highly lustrous, well formed blue and greenish-blue lazulite crystals.

The coloration on this specimen is exquisite -- unlike many of the darker crystals found at this locality, here the crystals are bright and easily show their rich navy blues in any lighting, with stronger lighting revealing the highly gemmy green-blue coloration.

Scattered amongst the lazulite are many superb prismatic quartz crystals, adding even more sparkle, as well as naturally etched bicolor siderite crystals adding contrast and interest to the piece.

Overall an outstanding representative specimen.
