Description

This specimen hosts gold in the form of thin sheets up to appr. >5 mm, perched upon translucent quartz, accompanied by minor pyrite and mica.

Although South Africa is one of the worlds largest gold producers, gold specimens from South Africa are increasingly scarce on the markets. Modern security regulations prevent specimens and samples from leaving the mines without being crushed for gold extraction.
