Gold ore, consisting mostly of pyrite/chalcopyrite and galena in quartz matrix, featuring a small gold bleb alongside to crystalline galena frozen in the quartz.

Schellgaden is an ancient gold mining area. The "Stüblbau" mine was first documented in 1354 and was mined intermittently for over 500 years. Gold and silver were associated to sulphidic ores which formed layers in quartz. They did occur both freely crystallized and as inclusions in sulphides.

A rare alpine locality specimen from Austria!
