Description

An old-time gold ore specimen from Dr. Krantz stock, showing an old-fashioned, uneven polish. Some of the gold is very finely dispersed in the quartz (so-called "mustard gold"), but in some cases it forms larger sheets, which are visible especially on the raw reverse side (pic 6 and following).

Accompanied by bronze-metallic coloradoite and silvery galena. Rare old material from classic Bessie G Mine, La Plata Mining District, La Plata Co., Colorado, USA.
